Mortar Board, a national honor society for men and women, is based on leadership, scholarship and service. It is one of the highest honors that can be granted to seniors. Members must display outstanding dedication to service and leadership.

Capstone Men and Women serve as the official ambassadors of The University of Alabama. The class of 2023-2024 has been selected and is eager to serve UA's visitors and guests. The group assists the President's Office, Office of Undergraduate Admissions and National Alumni Association in providing tours to prospective students, parents and other campus guests.

The University of Alabama honored the achievement of numerous students, faculty and staff during the annual Tapping on the Mound ceremony April 7.

The University of Alabama National Alumni Association recently recognized the recipients of their top awards. Anderson Society, a senior honorary, was founded at UA in 1975 and seeks to promote excellence in student leadership and service as well as high academic standards. Each year, 24 members are selected in recognition of their significant contributions to the University.

The University of Alabama recently announced its official Spring 2023 SGA Election results. Students were elected to serve on either the Executive Council or as senators for their respective schools or colleges.

Alabama's Sydney Orefice Named to SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team. Sydney Orefice was named to the 2023 team for her work within the community.

Alabama's Joao Ferreira Named to SEC Community Service Team. Ferreira has led the Crimson Tide by example the past two seasons both on and off the court.

The Alabama Forensic Council, The University of Alabama's competitive speech team, recently competed in five national tournaments and brought home its 24th team national championship and nine individual event national championships among other awards.

Several University of Alabama students recently earned ADDY Awards for their work on multiple projects while at the Capstone in 2022. The American Advertising Federation ADDYs are the advertising industry's largest competition recognizing collegiate and professional projects on local, regional and national levels.

The University of Alabama's Department of Human Resources recently held its annual ceremony recognizing the Student Employee of the Year and honored the other student nominees.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program has selected two University of Alabama students as Goldwater Scholars for 2023-2024.

Working with technology being developed at The University of Alabama, two students will compete in a national collegiate business pitch competition after winning the regional competition.

Alabama swimming and diving's Cam Auerbach and Derek Maas were awarded Second-Team Academic All-America honors by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.

This spring, 136 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program during the spring 2023 semester. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

Eight Alabama Swimming and Diving Members Named to CSC Academic All-District Team. Kalia Antoniou, Cam Auerbach, Derek Maas, Jake Marcum, Kensey McMahon, Diana Petkova, Eric Stelmar and Cat Wright were selected for all-district honors.

Mae Farmer of Fishers was recently honored with the John Fraser Ramsey Award during The University of Alabama Premier Awards ceremony March 2.

Jacob Camden of Lafayette was recently honored with the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award during The University of Alabama Premier Awards ceremony March 2.

Kennedy Carter of Ashville was recently honored with the Morris Lehman Mayer Award during The University of Alabama Premier Awards ceremony March 2.

Izzy Boyd of Oxford was recently honored with the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award during The University of Alabama Premier Awards ceremony March 2.

Alabama's Hannah Barber Named CSC Academic All-District Team. Barber earned the academic honor for the first time in her career.

Alabama's Mercy Chelangat Named SEC's Indoor Track and Field Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year. Chelangat becomes the first student-athlete since Daija Lampkin in 2020 to earn the award for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama's Ryan Cobbins Named to SEC Women's Basketball Community Service Team. Cobbins led the Crimson Tide in community service hours for the 2022-23 season
