The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, today announced the recipients of a 2024 Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant. The $1,000 grants were awarded to 125 students across the nation.

Students who traveled ranged from grad students to undergrads. A little over half of the students were art history or studio art majors; the rest were majors in a variety of fields, from psychology to engineering, business, and nursing.

The Fulbright Program has selected 13 University of Alabama students for various awards for the 2023-2024 academic year.

A University of Alabama exchange program is combining automotive engineering and the German language to create opportunities for students to explore careers. Two Steps Ahead is an international German exchange program through UA's College of Engineering that was started about five years ago by Dr. Bharat Balasubramanian, UA professor and executive director of Center for Advanced Vehicle Technologies.

The University of Alabama's Division of Student Life has named two students as recipients of the Spring 2018 UA Away scholarships. The UA Away scholarship initiative supports learning opportunities for students to work, serve, or study away from campus. William Hanlin, a graduate student pursing a master's degree in social work, will work away as a social worker in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico with an agency called VAMOS! Riley O'Neill, a junior majoring in Spanish, will study away in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Universidad de Belgrano. The main goal of the UA Away scholarship initiative is to provide students with unique learning opportunities to study in different environments, serve others and experience on-the-job training.
