28 Alabama Swimmers and Divers Earn Scholar All-America Honors. The Crimson Tide's 2022 CSCAA Scholar-America total includes 17 women and 11 men with a combined 14 earning first-team honors.

In August 2022, Second Lt Frei graduated from UA with a BA in Criminal Justice and commissioned into the United States Army Transportation Corps.

Mercy Chelangat Named 2022 USTFCCCA Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. In addition to Chelangat's honor, both the men and women earned the team honor while a total of 22 student-athletes earned individual All-Academic recognition

Alabama's Darcy Jennings Named Big 12 Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year for Rowing. Jennings was one of a league-leading 40 Academic All-Big 12 honorees for the Crimson Tide.

This summer, 165 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program during the summer 2022 semester. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

The University of Alabama has received an award to implement the first ever Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, partnering with Alabama A&M University in the new program.

Alabama Men's Tennis Has Perfect Showing on ITA Scholar-Athlete Team. The Crimson Tide placed all eight athletes on the ITA Scholar-Athlete Team as UA made its 10th consecutive appearance on the ITA All-Academic Team.

The International Peer Advisory Council is a group of international and domestic students dedicated to serving the international student population at The University of Alabama. Composed of both graduate and undergraduate students, IPAC helps mentor over 70 international students, fostering a more welcoming and inclusive community on campus. In addition to being peer leaders, IPAC members help facilitate events and activities for international students such as our Multicultural Coffee Hour, which features food and activities from a different country each week, creating space for intercultural dialogue. Other events that have benefitted greatly from IPAC's help include International Student Orientation, Evening Seminars, and other community service-based events.

Alabama Swimming and Diving's Morgan Liberto Earns First Team Academic All-America Honors. The recent Crimson Tide graduate earned the honor for the second year in a row and was one of just two Southeastern Conference student-athletes to earn a place on the first team.

The Alabama men's swimming and diving team leads the nation with two swimmers on the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large First Team, the College Sports Information Directors Association announced Tuesday.

A total of 11,224 students enrolled during Spring Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).

A total of 363 students enrolled in UA Early College during Spring Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the director's list with an academic record of 3.6 (or higher).

Alabama's Planinsek Earns Men's ITA Rookie of the Year Honors for Southern Region. Planinsek recorded a team-leading 22 singles wins during the season.

Alabama's Petra Sedlackova was named the ITA Rookie of the Year for the Southern Region, the organization announced on Monday.

Alabama's Dylan Ray Named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman All-American. The right-hander is the Tide's first freshman All-America selection since 2020.

Montana Fouts and Kaylee Tow Earn First Team CoSIDA Softball Academic All-America Honors. Tow becomes the second four-time honoree in program history

Alabama's Owen Diodati Selected to CoSIDA Division I Baseball Academic All-America Team. Diodati is Alabama baseball's first Academic All-American since 2007.

Forty-five students representing 30 majors from across campus have been selected for the new class of the renowned Capstone Men and Women. Capstone Men and Women serve as official ambassadors of The University of Alabama and ensure an extra measure of hospitality, making visitors feel they have experienced a truly exceptional place. They provide a warm reception for guests and help them gain a better understanding of all aspects of the University. Capstone Men and Women assist the University president's office, admissions and alumni during functions held on campus and in other locations, as well as host daily tours of the campus for prospective students and other visitors. Last year, they led more than 3,600 daily campus tours. Officers for the 2022-2023 academic year are Preston McGee, president; Ibby Dickson, vice president of operations; and Mya Nobles, vice president of administration.

Polly Mack Named All-America First Team by WGCA. The women's golfer graduated from the University of Alabama in early May.

A record number of UA students were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship with 21 selected to participate in study abroad programs during the most recent application cycle.

The Fulbright Program has selected 18 University of Alabama students for various awards for the 2022-2023 academic year. Five UA students received Fulbright Student Research Awards and 10 won Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Awards. In addition, three students won Fulbright Summer Study Awards to Canada.

Through representation, community, and support, the Graduate Student Association (GSA) aims to serve all graduate students at The University of Alabama. The GSA Executive Council serves to undertake initiatives for the improvement of the graduate student experience with the help of committees and delegates across all graduate programs and departments.
