Some 1,257 degrees will be awarded during The University of Alabama's summer 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum. A total of 414 students enrolled during Summer Semester 2023 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). These driven students are making waves across UA's more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

A total of 385 students enrolled in UA Early College during summer semester 2023 at The University of Alabama were named to the director's list with an academic record of 3.6 (or higher).

This fall, 152 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program during the fall 2023 semester. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

UA Adapted Athletics wheelchair basketball player Lindsey Zurbrugg has one more accolade to add to her collection of national championship trophies and World Championship medals. She was recently selected to represent the Cracker Jack brand as its national "Cracker Jill."

Four University of Alabama Adapted Athletics students represented the U.S. in the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation World Championships in Dubai in June where Team USA earned the bronze medal.

Rhyan White to Represent Team USA at World Aquatics Championships. White will compete at the international competition in Fukuoka, Japan, July 22-30.

Enzo Aguiard To Represent Australia at World University Games. The tennis competition will begin July 29 in Chengdu, China.

At the end of her first year at the University of Alabama, Kasia Nicholson, an 18-year-old Camden native, was selected for an internship in the office of another prominent Wilcox County native: Gov. Kay Ivey.
