These outstanding Culverhouse College of Business students excel academically and dedicate themselves to serving their community.

Student entrepreneurs pitched their business plans to a panel of judges, received feedback and competed for cash prizes from $500 to the grand prize of $50,000.

The students had six weeks to work with SafePush - a biomedical device that attaches to a syringe and controls the flow rate of the injection - to develop a strategy that would help them accelerate their ability to gain FDA approval and ultimately scale revenues.

Nearly 50 high schoolers, college students, and professionals visited HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology on March 1, spending the day participating in the eighth HudsonAlpha Tech Challenge (HATCH). HATCH 2025 was made possible by Innovate Alabama, the presenting sponsor.

The UA Astrobotics team earned a ninth win in NASA's Lunabotics Challenge, a robotic mining competition held in a simulated lunar environment.

This year's competition was hybrid with day one being virtual and day two in-person. Competitors uploaded 10-minute video presentations of their business plans that judges reviewed prior to the competition. On day one, judges held 15-minute Q&A sessions with participants. Afterwards, judges deliberated as to which ideas were the best and should move on to the next round. On day two, teams presented in-person to a panel of judges.

Congratulations to Manderson Case Team's Ben Heggeman, Kabria Thomas, and Tylan Farrokhnia for securing second place and $12,000 in the recent KeyBank/Ohio State University Case Competition.

After a series of setbacks, a student team from The University of Alabama took top prize in the unmanned division at the Promoting Electric Propulsion 2024 competition in Virginia Beach on April 15-16.

Marissa Luna was crowned Miss University of Alabama 2023-24 Oct. 7 at the Bama Theatre. She is a sophomore from Birmingham majoring in business and is no stranger to the stage.

Mae Farmer, a senior from Nashville, Indiana majoring in accounting and psychology, was crowned the 2023 Homecoming Queen of The University of Alabama during the annual pep rally and bonfire on the UA Quad Oct. 13.

The University of Alabama's (UA) chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) received a Star Chapter Award from national PRSSA. UA was one of 38 schools chosen for the award.

Sixteen students will compete for the title of Miss University of Alabama at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The Miss UA competition is an official preliminary event for Miss Alabama in the Miss America organization.

Seven UA students placed or earned recognition during preliminaries for the Miss Alabama pageant on July 1.

Eleven University of Alabama students are among a field of 42 contestants set to compete for the title of Miss Alabama June 28-July 1 at Samford University in Birmingham.
