The University of Alabama's Interfraternity Council has elected its executive board for 2023.

The UA Department of Art and Art History presents the master of arts thesis exhibitions of three graduate students, Nathan Childers, Dillan Ladner, and Kat Murray, February 23-March 3, 2023, in the Sella-Granata Art Gallery, Woods Hall, on UA campus. A reception will be held Thursday, March 2, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., when school is in session.

Alabama Swimmers Named to SEC Community Service Team. Swimmers Derek Maas and Kensey McMahon were named to the 2023 team for their work within the community.

Lilly Saub, a University of Alabama junior majoring in aerospace engineering, is one of 47 undergraduate students in the nation selected for the Brooke Owens Fellowship, a nationally acclaimed nonprofit program that awards exceptional women and gender minorities with an internship in the fields of space and aviation.

The University of Alabama's student-run Capstone Agency created communications plans for several charities pro bono.

The Blackburn Institute is proud to announce the winners of the 2022 Daniel Community Scholars Competition. As part of the curriculum for each new class, students are divided into ten groups based on collective interest. The groups then plan a project proposal for the Tuscaloosa area with the help of community partners, before competing against one another for funding. This year, the Institute is excited to have selected three DCS groups to receive funding, whose proposals will be implemented over the course of the Spring 2023 semester.

Alabama Swimmer Kalia Antoniou Named Cyprus' Best Female Athlete of 2022. All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association's Best Female Athlete from Cyprus.

The University of Alabama awarded over 1,650 degrees during its fall commencement ceremonies on August 6, 2022. A total of 12,791 students enrolled during Fall Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). These driven students are making waves across UA's more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

A total of 501 students enrolled in UA Early College during fall semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the director's list with an academic record of 3.6 (or higher).

Trinity Hunter, a senior at The University of Alabama, has been named to the American Advertising Federation's Top 50 Most Promising Multicultural Students for 2023.

The regional winners participated in a roundtable discussion, reflecting on their experiences and offering insights that can help graduate schools develop successful 3MT competitions and other programs designed to hone students' communication skills.

The Crimson Tide had a program-record five student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-America honors and its first Soccer Academic All-America Team Member of the Year.

The Crimson Tide's tally includes Heisman and Nagurski trophy winners, five All-Americans and two Academic All-Americans, with 21 earning undergraduate and four taking home graduate degrees

Graduate student in sculpture Amanda Warr, who is working toward the MFA at UA, received two accolades in November.

Graduate student in printmaking Kat Murray has been awarded a Levitetz 2023 Innovation Seed Grant for her art project, "Grabbing Traces." The grant will support Murray's experimentation and learning in drawing and printing techniques. She is working toward the Master of Fine Arts in printmaking at UA.

Graduate student in painting Nathan Childers received the Best in Show award in the exhibition Queer Aesthetics held at Mississippi University for Women Galleries, October 5 through November 11, 2022, in Columbus, Mississippi.

Hosted by the UA Graduate School, Three Minute Thesis is a research communication competition that challenges graduate students to present a compelling oration on their research and its significance in just three minutes in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

University of Alabama student Sean Atchison has received a Boren Scholarship for the study of languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.

The College of Human Environmental Sciences hosted the Fashion for Life runway show at the Bama Theatre Nov. 20. The fashion show featured 11 senior apparel design students' collections that represented their personal design philosophy and target market.

Alabama's Seth McLaughlin Named to CSC Academic All-District Team. The junior earned his undergraduate degree with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Alabama's Emil Ekiyor Jr. Selected to 2022 SEC Community Service Team. The redshirt senior has devoted significant time to volunteer efforts during his time at the Capstone.

University of Alabama student Aslan Chikovani, a first year masters student in piano performance studying under Dr. Edisher Savitski, recently competed and placed first in the Alabama State MTNA Young Artists Competition, also advancing to the division stage of the competition.

An Air Force staff sergeant who serves her nation and community has received the 2022 Legendary Service Award from The University of Alabama Online.

Senior Ibby Dickson was crowned Miss University of Alabama 2023 during the Nov. 5 competition held at the Bama Theater in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Micah Presley, a recent graduate of The University of Alabama, has received a John S. McCain Strategic Defense Fellowship through the U.S. Department of Defense.
