Over 1,300 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama's summer 2025 commencement at Coleman Coliseum on Aug. 2. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

A total of 473 students enrolled during Summer Semester 2025 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). These driven students are making waves across UA's more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

WVUA 90.7 Program Director Andrew Jauregui admits that the experience of student radio workers, often in individual, soundproofed rooms, can be a little isolating, so he stresses connection and community through meetings and get-togethers. "Because student media, especially here, has a really great culture," he said. "I feel like it's easy for us to get weighed down with the day-to-day tasks of what we have to do to keep the station running," WVUA 90.7 Station Manager Kathryn Rachford agreed. "But as station manager, I want to take my extra time to be able to plan events and get-togethers or even hosting live bands, just things that can bring people in and reunite us."

Alexandra Holley, a recent public relations graduate from The University of Alabama, was recently honored as a Gold Key Award winner from PRSSA National.

Alabama gymnastics was named to the 2025 Scholastic All-America team and saw 15 gymnasts capture individual Scholastic All-America honors, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) revealed this week.

Spencer Kimbro, a para track and field student-athlete in UA's Adapted Athletics program, broke personal records during the 2025 USA Track and Field National Championship July 31-Aug. 3.

Three Alabama men's golfers have been named to the 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars list, the Golf Coaches Associate of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday. Connor Brown, Jones Free and Jonathan Griz were each recognized as a part of the 556 Division I student-athletes from 190 schools to have earn the honor.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, today announced the recipients of a 2024 Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant. The $1,000 grants were awarded to 125 students across the nation.

The International Peer Advisory Council is a group of international and domestic students dedicated to serving the international student population at The University of Alabama. Composed of both graduate and undergraduate students, IPAC helps mentor over 70 international students, fostering a more welcoming and inclusive community on campus. In addition to being peer leaders, IPAC members help facilitate events and activities for international students such as our Multicultural Coffee Hour, which features food and activities from a different country each week, creating space for intercultural dialogue. Other events that have benefitted greatly from IPAC's help include International Student Orientation, Evening Seminars, and other community service-based events.

A team of undergraduate students at The University of Alabama tackled this issue recently as part of a partnership with NASA to turn technology discovered by the space agency into viable products. Part of the STEM and CREATE PATH to MBA programs in UA Culverhouse College of Business, the NASA Technology Transfer University program, or NASA T2U, allows freshman and sophomore students to use NASA intellectual property to solve existing challenges.
