The University of Alabama National Alumni Association recently recognized the recipients of their top awards. The purpose of the Alumni Senior Award is to honor seniors who have excelled in academics and extracurricular activities, shown strength of character and maturity, and displayed exceptional hospitality toward guests and friends of the UA.

Through dedicated support and meaningful connections to campus resources, REACH empowers students to build confidence, resilience and a clear path forward. For Zach Cole, the program opened doors to college graduation, world travel and opportunities he once only imagined.

Blue Key is a premier honor society that recognizes college students for balanced and all-around excellence in scholarship, leadership and service.

A partnership between the College of Human Environmental Sciences and Augusta National Golf Club in which CHES allowed students to work during the Masters Tournament, professional golf's premier event, in roles that include hospitality as servers and bartenders, merchandising, and operations.

The Capstone Men and Women for 2026-2027 have been selected and are eager to serve UA's visitors and guests as the official ambassadors of The University of Alabama. The group assists the President's Office, Office of Undergraduate Admissions and National Alumni Association in providing tours to prospective students, parents and other campus guests.

The president, executive council and 49 senators representing all of UA's colleges and schools will serve the campus community through spring 2027.

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation selected three University of Alabama students as Goldwater Scholars for 2026-2027.

Students competed in New York City and Athens, Georgia.

University of Alabama students immersed themselves in service and leadership in New Orleans through the Beyond Bama alternative spring break program this year. The group of 15 students worked with regional nonprofits to address environmental restoration of the Louisiana coast.

This spring, 134 University of Alabama students will receive hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program.

Twenty-three apparel design seniors at The University of Alabama presented their final collections at the annual Fashion for Life showcase on Nov. 16 at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Over 1,300 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama's summer 2025 commencement at Coleman Coliseum on Aug. 2. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

WVUA 90.7 Program Director Andrew Jauregui admits that the experience of student radio workers, often in individual, soundproofed rooms, can be a little isolating, so he stresses connection and community through meetings and get-togethers. "Because student media, especially here, has a really great culture," he said. "I feel like it's easy for us to get weighed down with the day-to-day tasks of what we have to do to keep the station running," WVUA 90.7 Station Manager Kathryn Rachford agreed. "But as station manager, I want to take my extra time to be able to plan events and get-togethers or even hosting live bands, just things that can bring people in and reunite us."

Red Rook Press, a student-run publishing house at The University of Alabama, was recently honored with the Judy Bonner Presidential Medallion Award during the Premier Awards, the Capstone's highest honors.

Four University of Alabama student veterans laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.

This pre-accelerator program focuses on helping student progress their ideas. Students receive a $4,000 stipend to support their working on their business ideas full time in the summer.

University of Alabama seniors Aubrey Dettman, Samantha Norris, Alyssa Serena and Braxton Smith were awarded UA ASSURE (Arts & Sciences Support for Undergraduate Research) grants this academic year to support their senior research projects.

University of Alabama students and recent UA graduates filled out the winning teams at the 2024 River Pitch competition held in November. The event for entrepreneurs showcased 62 unique business ideas. Each team presented a three-minute pitch to several judges.

An Air Force staff sergeant who serves her nation and community has received the 2022 Legendary Service Award from The University of Alabama Online.

The International Peer Advisory Council is a group of international and domestic students dedicated to serving the international student population at The University of Alabama. Composed of both graduate and undergraduate students, IPAC helps mentor over 70 international students, fostering a more welcoming and inclusive community on campus. In addition to being peer leaders, IPAC members help facilitate events and activities for international students such as our Multicultural Coffee Hour, which features food and activities from a different country each week, creating space for intercultural dialogue. Other events that have benefitted greatly from IPAC's help include International Student Orientation, Evening Seminars, and other community service-based events.
