Ten University of Alabama students selected for the 2026 class of Capitol Scholars.

University of Alabama junior and Birmingham native Camila Lopez has been awarded the Obama Foundation's Voyager Scholarship that recognizes college students with a passion for public service.

A total of 473 students enrolled during Summer Semester 2025 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). These driven students are making waves across UA's more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

For summer semester 2025, 340 University of Alabama Early College students were on the Director's List obtaining a 3.6 or higher GPA for the term.

WVUA 90.7 Program Director Andrew Jauregui admits that the experience of student radio workers, often in individual, soundproofed rooms, can be a little isolating, so he stresses connection and community through meetings and get-togethers. "Because student media, especially here, has a really great culture," he said. "I feel like it's easy for us to get weighed down with the day-to-day tasks of what we have to do to keep the station running," WVUA 90.7 Station Manager Kathryn Rachford agreed. "But as station manager, I want to take my extra time to be able to plan events and get-togethers or even hosting live bands, just things that can bring people in and reunite us."

Alexandra Holley, a recent public relations graduate from The University of Alabama, was recently honored as a Gold Key Award winner from PRSSA National.
