UA Media Scholar from Greeley Competing in DC

Grace Murphy and Alison Reed, both students in The University of Alabama's College of Communication and Information Sciences, are one team among only seven finalists in the country who will compete in Washington, DC as part of the Washington Media Scholars Foundation's Media Case Competition.

The competition, held this year from June 2-7, is in its 14th year and this is the University's first team to make the list of finalists.

During the competition, Murphy and Reed will have high-level networking opportunities and compete for $18,500 in scholarships.

Murphy is a rising senior majoring in advertising and serves as the director of the Strategy Department for Capstone Agency, UA's nationally-recognized student-run communications agency.

Reed is a junior majoring in advertising and serves as the media director for Capstone Agency.

The competition is aimed at celebrating and recognizing outstanding talent in the field of media. The finalists are selected by a panel of judges through a rigorous evaluation process.
